Accessibility statement for Talvo
This statement applies to the Talvo website and application at talvo.vote. It follows the format recommended by the UK Government Digital Service.
Using this website
Talvo is designed so that you should be able to:
- Use the whole site with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator on every control.
- Navigate by landmarks and headings with a screen reader.
- Zoom to 400% without loss of content or function.
- Complete every voter-facing form (ballots, supporter confirmations, contact) without JavaScript enabled.
We do not use CAPTCHAs or other cognitive tests anywhere on the site.
Conformance status
Talvo aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA. At the time of writing we are not aware of any AA failures on production surfaces. This statement will be updated if any are identified.
Feedback
If you find something that doesn't work well, or you need information in a different format, please email support@talvo.vote. We aim to reply within five working days.
Enforcement
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. If you're not happy with how we respond to your complaint, you can contact the EHRC (or the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland if you live in Northern Ireland).
How we test
We test against WCAG 2.2 AA using automated tooling on every deploy and periodic manual checks with keyboard-only navigation and VoiceOver / NVDA. Ballot pages are additionally tested with JavaScript disabled.
